Weekly Update Written by: Ann

I barely had enough money for the necessesities for Natalie and I given only $20,000 for a house and furniture. Though, there was enough money for me to buy a computer so that Natalie has some variety in what she can do when she gets home from school.

Natalie was very interested in reading books as a child rather than watching television or playing the computer. I was really impressed with Natalie's reading speed and with her vocabulary. She tended to read romance novels, which I had pre-read to make sure the material wasn't too mature. I think it is because she is still affected by the divorce.

I soon looked for a job. I knew there would need to be money in the house for when the bills started coming in. I also wanted to upgrade the furniture so that we would be able to sleep better at night and have the food be of a better quality. I found an opening in the Law Enforcement career and I applied. A few days later, I was told that I was approved for the job.

In my spare time, I loved to play with Natalie. I don't really miss not having a husband, but I know Natalie misses her father. I wish I had did have time and money to actively look for a husband.

One of the neighbors came over and told me to take some time for myself and he would play with Natalie. His name was Jon Adams. He told me his wife had left him a few years ago. He understood how hard it was for me to move on and keep a happy face for Natalie. Though, he did seem like he missed his ex-wife still.

Over breakfast one morning, I warned Natalie that I might have to hire a nanny to stay with her as I was close to getting a promotion. I had enough money to hire a nanny, thankfully. I just hoped I got promoted again and worked the hours my daughter was in class again. I told her that it would mean more money in the house with the promotion and that I was only doing it because I loved her. I hope she understands.

I did get the promotion and began right away on trying to get the next promotion. I knew I was quite capable of getting the next promotion quickly and be on a better schedule.

I'd fix breakfast for Natalie and go immediately for work. Natalie tells me she doesn't like the house so quiet so I'd turn on the television before I left to help her cope with the loneliness, since the nanny isn't much company. I'm also tempted to call Jon and see if he would come over until Natalie needed to go to school. However, I decided not to as Jon has two of his own children to keep comapany.

I did spend a lot of time talking to Jon. I think both of us enjoy talking to each other and remind ourselves about our ex. He had a teenage son and a daughter Natalie's age.

I did soon get the promotion and had a 9 to 3 job which allowed me to tell the nanny that her services were no longer needed. Natalie was happy that I would be home when she was.

As the week closed down, I fixed pancakes for dinner. Natalie had stayed in her pajamas all day. I've told her today was the last day that she could stay in her pjs all day long. She said ok, but I knew she didn't like the new rule.

Natalie's reading romance novels at her age! Too funny! Hum, do we have a budding romance with Jon? I'm glad she got promoted a second time so she could be with her daughter more again.
