The Thomas Family- Week 1

Minding the Twins

Weekly Update Written By: Lucius Thomas

Grandma Aimee, the twin toddlers Kori and Nicholas, and I were given a pretty small house to furnish with the money that was left after buying the house. We were able to get the necessities and a television to watch. We are determined to make ends meet. Though, since the toddlers have to stay at home all day, I am the one who gets to work and bring in money.

I miss out on a lot of after school activities since I do work most every day and if I am not working, then I want to spend time with Kori and Nick since I don't get to see them much during the week. I play catch up on the weekend and I have to help Grandma Aimee with household chores. I really wish I could have a normal teenage life sometimes. However, I realize that this will make me better off for when I myself have a family.

It is hard for Grandma Aimee and I to keep in good spirits since these two are constantly trying to get into something or we are tyring to teach them walk or talk or potty training them. Since we've moved here, I have had barely enough time to do my homework. Grandma Aimee barely has time to do anything for herself, especially when I'm at school or work since she has to keep an eye on two toddlers.

One of our neighbors came over on Wednesday. Her name is Rylie Roberts. Grandma Aimee will be pleased that she can socialize with someone her age for a change. She can talk about what life was like for her growing up and have someone who experienced the same time as well. Plus, talking to the same three people gets boring when you do it every day.

That night was the twins birthday. Kori grew into a very pretty child and decided she wanted to be a tomboy. As she is to become head of house upon becoming teen, I feel it fitting that she be allowed to choose what she wants to wear. I am only filling in since she is too young to complete the roll by herself. She's beginning to ask where Mom and Dad are since many kids at the school have a mother and father. Grandma Aimee and I have been stalling, unsure of what to tell her.

Nick grew into a handsome child. Grandma Aimee says that she will work if I wanted to to just lounge around the house. I haven't decided what I'm going to do. Part of me would like to quit my job, but part of me wants to keep going at it. Hopefully, Kori and Nick will be able to enjoy their childhood and be able to do as they please when they become teenagers.

Kori and Nick became friends quick once they could actually play together. I hope that they stay good friends throughout their lives and nothing tears them apart. They way things are going now, they are right on track to do just that.

We sold the items needed for when Kori and Nick were toddlers and with the money we had saved from my job, we bought two beds and made some other upgrades to the house. Hopefully, we will be able to pay the bills. We don't have much money.

Awww it must be tough on Lucius and his grandma Aimee- he's lucky that she is there to help him out with Kori and Nicholas
